Dr Joshua Bamford
Dr Joshua S. Bamford is Senior Lecturer in Music Education at the Centre of Excellence in Music, Mind, Body and Brain, University of Jyväskylä, and a Research Affiliate at the Centre for the Study of Social Cohesion, University of Oxford, where he previously completed a DPhil in Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology. He is a classically trained singer, and has previously worked for West Australian Opera, and as a choral scholar at St Peter’s College, Oxford. His current research mostly concerns the social functions of music and dance, from cross-cultural and cross-species perspectives.
